Catherine (Cat) Gander

Catherine is an iconic feminist leader due to her longstanding work in the family, domestic and sexual violence sector and has held multiple executive and advisory roles at the national and state level. She is a feminist role model for many younger women, spending thousands of personal hours supporting and empowering individual women to find their voice and strength. Equally she has spent a lifetime of advocacy challenging and speaking up against patriarchal structures that continue to disempower and marginalise women. Currently, as the CEO of feminist organisation DV West, she continues to lead a ground breaking service of specialist female DFV workers to make a genuine difference to women and children’s lives, so they can live free from violence with the safety, stability and healing they deserve.
