Victims of Crime Consultative Committee
Cathy is a passionate domestic abuse and sexual violence lived experience consultant who advocates for systemic, structural, policy and legislative change to improve outcomes and supports available for victims of crime. She has been a survivor advocate with Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre since 2007 and a survivor ambassador with Mettle Women since 2019. Cathy gave evidence to the Royal Commission into Family Violence which led to two of the final recommendations and resulted in a review of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act. She is a victim representative on the Victims of Crime consultative committee and a family violence lived experience consultant on the Victoria Legal Aid Specialist Family Violence Court Project steering committee. Cathy works tirelessly to ensure the voices of lived experience are included.
