Cathy is a medical practitioner, mental health consumer advocate and child abuse survivor. Over the last 20 years she has led the growth and influence of Blue Knot Foundation – National Centre of Excellence for Complex Trauma, previously ASCA. She has driven systems change advocating for greater understanding and comprehensive policy and practice change to respond to the needs of Australians experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation as a child, or adult. A respected thought leader around trauma-informed practice and complex trauma, she is author of multiple cutting-edge publications and a prominent voice in the media and at conferences.
