Project coordinator, Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project

Sister Brigid has been a tenacious fighter for the rights of some of the most vulnerable members of our community for decades, particularly people seeking asylum. Sister Brigid is the project coordinator of the Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP) providing practical support to asylum seekers through such initiatives as the provision of housing and employment. She is a former long term board member of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and litigation guardian for many vulnerable asylum seekers who need a representative in several Federal Court matters which has allowed them to obtain critical and urgent medical care in Australia.
