Tanya Jackson-Vaughan
Tanya is the executive director of RACS, a specialist community legal centre based in Sydney, which has been providing free, expert services for people seeking asylum, for over 25 years. Despite government funding cuts, Tanya has overseen the growth of RACS into one of the leading refugee legal centres in Australia.
In 2015-16, the organisation helped over 5000 people. Since 2001, Tanya has been working to improve the lives of people seeking asylum and refugees teaching English as a Second Language at ASC, Villawood detention centre and working for Anthony Albanese MP, where she helped people living in the electorate with immigration problems.
